- The driveway entry is shared with a red detached studio, located across the 3-acre lot, periodically used by our niece for quiet, creative work. Beyond the entry point, the driveway & home are private for guest use.

- There are motion activated front & rear entrance/deck access & garage door temp camera-sensor.

Make sure you add Hanging Lake to your trip’s to-do list for a beautiful turquoise lake, waterfall, and breathtaking scenery. In autumn, make time for the Maroon Bells, 25 mi up valley. Be sure to make reservations for entry! For adrenaline junkies, the area offers whitewater rafting. Head to Iron Mtn Hot Springs or Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool.

My four grandsons spent many hours outside playing badminton (Kendall the host already had it set up which was a really nice touch), horseshoes, and bocce ball. For the last 15 years as a Denver native, I have spent hours trying to find the perfect home for my family of 10 each summer and everyone in my family agreed that the Aspenwood House was by far the best one I had selected. The setting is more amazing than the photos do it justice. On two sides you have a wall of trees/bushes for extra privacy and the house backs directly to the Roaring Fork River. Everyone spent hours on the spacious long deck directly facing the river with both areas for those wanting to suntan or for others that wanted to relax in the shade... Kendall the host provided an activity list that was very up to date and also returned my texts and phone calls before and during the trip ASAP. Loved, loved this private oasis and look forward to returning next summer.

We loved our experience! The property is beautiful and we really enjoyed the space. The owners really do a great job of labeling everything and leaving easy to understand instructions for everything. These owners go above and beyond with little items around the house that were pleasant surprises.

Aspenwood House exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Nothing is more valuable to us than our annual summer vacation with our 3 adult children and their partners.
- First, the grounds are stunning! We would have been happy hanging on the deck overlooking the river but between the fishing, tubing, volleyball, horseshoe, cornhole, light-up bocci and the hot tub, we barely left the property. We know how much there is to do in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale/Basalt & Marble/Redstone but we could hardly steal away from “grown-up camp” at Aspenwood House!
- Second, each of the 4 bedrooms were beyond comfortable and were well-situated for privacy and quiet. The view from the primary is incomparable. The kitchen was spotless, perfectly organized and thoroughly equipped. We appreciated the Sonos through the house. Never turned on a TV but the media room looked so inviting! Anything a guest could possibly need from fishing equipment to river tubes to games to hot tub towels was available.
- Third, the fishing from the property made our crew exceedingly happy. From the more experienced (obsessed) anglers to the beginners, the gold medal waters did not disappoint – we caught Cutthroat, Rainbows and Browns from the property every day.
- Finally, we can’t speak highly enough of Kendall, our host. From our initial inquiry through our stay, she was responsive, generous and patient with our many questions (many about fishing!).
