Stone Turtle Lodges has three newly constructed individual cabins with 840 square feet of charming comfort. Cabins have a large picture window and a deck with a view of Sleeping Ute Mountain and the carved mesas of Mesa Verde National Monument. The cabins are centrally located to the high mountains, Anasazi sites, hiking trails, rivers, and lakes. Surrounded by quiet farm land. Sunsets are spectacular. Far from city lights. Full view of the stars right from the cabin’s front porch.
Each cabin has one bedroom with queen bed downstairs and a large loft with 3 twin beds. The one bath has a spacious tiled shower. Kitchen has refrigerator, stove top, microwave and Keurig hot drink server. Living area has love seat, comfort chairs and desk. Linen, towels, dishes and pans are all provided. There is also a horse corral available for use.
The cabins are located 3 miles north of Cortez, CO and 8 miles south of Dolores, CO. We are a 12 miles from Mesa Verde National Park, 49 miles from Durango CO, 63 miles from Telluride CO, 10 miles from Anasazi Heritage Center, and 8 miles from McPhee Reservoir. High country and desert hiking trails are from 5 miles to 60 miles away. Excellent fishing holes all around us. Famous rafting trips on the Animas and Dolores Rivers in spring and summer.
