“Mesa Shred” is located off a private dirt road nestled atop a beautiful little canyon. It’s only 10 minutes outside of Cortez but you’ll forget how close you are when you’re enjoying this relaxing country living. Whether your idea of fun is an epic adventure or just kicking back then this is the place for you. Phil’s World mountain bike trails are right in your backyard. It’s currently rated top 5 mountain bike trails in the country by mountain bikers! Riders of all skill level will be stoked to shred these trails especially when you can pedal from your front door. The house is on 6 acres with amazing views of Mesa Verde, the La Plata’s and surrounding mountains. Great central location for visiting local attractions like Mesa Verde, Dolores, Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride and Moab as well as enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, hunting, rafting, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing and of course biking. The fairgrounds are also located right across the highway. You can enjoy the county fair, rodeo, car races, demolition derby and carnival.
The house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area and bonus room. The master bedroom has a queen bed, walk-in closet and TV. The master bathroom has a granite countertop vanity, large walk-in travertine shower with bench and heated flooring. The second bedroom has a queen bed and smart TV. The second bathroom has a granite countertop vanity with glass bowl sink and travertine tiled shower with a tub. The living room has a couch with chaise lounge and pull-out bed. It also has a reclining chair with foot rest and smart TV. The kitchen has granite countertops with bar seating for 3, stainless steel farmhouse sink, dishwasher, stove, microwave and refrigerator. It also comes equipped with all your cooking needs as well as a coffee maker, tea pot, toaster, blender and hand held mixer. The dining area has a table with seating for 4. The bonus room has a pool table, couch, 4 bar stools and TV.
The patio has a propane BBQ and patio table with seating for 4. There’s also an amazing deck off the bonus room with patio furniture to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views, wildlife, sunrises, sunsets and stars. Don’t miss the moon rise if there’s a full moon during your stay!
The bedrooms and bonus room have blackout blinds for guests wanting to sleep in on their vacation getaway. The house sleeps 6 with 2 in master bedroom, 2 in second bedroom and 2 on sofa sleeper.
If you don’t feel like cooking, there are several restaurants to choose from in Cortez, Dolores and Mancos.
The property is located on a private dirt road and therefore, is not county maintained. Four Wheel Drive (4WD) or All Wheel Drive (AWD) is required during winter months. Spring, Summer and Fall are usually accessible with Two Wheel Drive (2WD). Make sure to check weather conditions prior to your stay. If there is snow on the road, you will need 4WD or AWD.
