Beautiful setting overlooking the Gunnison River. The property is just two minutes south of Almont; which is the start of Taylor Canyon. It is a quick eight minutes south to Gunnison or 20 minutes north to Crested Butte. This rental you can sleep up to ten folks between the main home and bonus cabin!
Bedrooms: The property includes two king bedrooms, one bedroom/foyer and two baths; with a bonus cabin.
Master Bedroom, Jr. Suite, and there is also a third pull out-bed, that doubles as the family room.
Bonus Cabin: The adjacent bonus cabin on the property, includes a open floor plan with a full bed, a full-sized futon, twin bunkbeds. The cabin has a wood stove and portable electric heater with lights. It also houses porta potty but no other plumbing.
Surroundings: This rental is an outdoor enthusiasts dream! In the summer, there is world class fishing, hunting, hiking, and rafting right out the door. In the winter, it is 25 minutes with a free shuttle bus (stop in Almont) to Crested Butte Ski Resort and 45 minutes to Monarch ski resort. For starters there is OHV access to Fossil Ridge recreation area and hundreds of miles of OHV roads and trails.
Parking: Easy access just off the highway. There is ample parking for several vehicles including OHVs and trailers. Feel free to make noise, have a campfire, barbecue and not worry about complaints from neighbors.
Bars and Restaurants: Just two minutes up the road there are two bars and restaurants; the smokehouse (only open in the summer) and the Almont Resort.
Amenities: On the beautiful huge covered porch you can listen to the river at night and stay cool and shady in the summer afternoons. It also offers south facing sun all day in the winter. Enjoy the wood firepit in the backyard and gas fireplace in the living room. Dine out in the summer and fall on the covered back porch and enjoy the Traeger pellet smoker/ barbecue grill for outdoor grilling.
