You'll also find trout in nearby mountain lakes, rivers and streams. Just a short drive away, the Arkansas River features some of the country's best white water rafting. For golfers, there is St. Andrews in Westcliffe. Winter sports can be enjoyed on miles of cross-country ski and snowmobile trails. Monarch ski area is located within a 1½ hour drive.
The climate is ideal - cool, clear and mostly dry in the winter, warm in the summer, and sunny nearly all year-round. Fall is most beautiful of all with the spun-gold aspens and the first snow crowning the big range.
