Are you looking for a remote rustic retreat? We have you covered with this cozy cabin. This cabin has been restored and made modern with simple touches of greenery and highland cattle. Enjoy sitting in oversized chairs the fire pit making smore's during the chilly months of the year.
Sleeping arrangements are a queen bed in the bedroom downstairs and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Also a twin bed and full bed upstairs in the loft. Note - you must be able to climb a flight of stairs to sleep in the full bed and twin bed upstairs in the loft/ they are steep ** this is very common for a loft style bedroom.
There is one bathroom with a shower downstairs. Downstairs you will also find a kitchen with mini range, microwave, toaster, full size refrigerator, a Keurig and some basic cooking needs. There is a stackable washer and dryer unit in the bathroom area (laundry detergent is not provided).
The TV can stream Netflix, Hulu or any app on the Roku TV. The WIFI is limited and due to the nature of the weather in the area it may not pick up/ and may cut out during your stay. The internet is brightspeed and goes off dsl and due to the nature of the this type of internet you could expect to see a 2-5 Mbps connection, this is the best option offered in the area.
There is also a nice back porch with a picnic style table. Outside you will also find the fire pit, chairs, and gas grill. (Please bring your own fire wood and lighter ) Also we have a outdoor double swing and hammock.
Along with the many beautiful scenic routes around the area and outdoor music events, the famous town of Mayberry sits right below the blue ridge parkway 35 minutes from our cozy cabin. This historic town features a tour around the town in an Andy Griffith cop car, many shops downtown, get in line early to eat at the famous Snappy Lunch , or hop on the trolley.
Looking for wine or local beer? There are 12 wineries, 4 breweries , and 1 distillery located anywhere from 10- 40 minutes from the cabin.
Or are you looking for more unique places to visit? Take a drive to The Puckett Cabin - historic milepost 190 on the Blueridge Parkway or Fancy Gap Pottery and Fabric Outlet (15 min drive). Looking for an authentic German dinner show? Head out to Wohlfahrt Haus dinner Show- Wytheville, VA (25 min ). We are in the perfect location to access many unique areas in Virginia and North Carolina.
If you enjoy relaxation such as laying in a hammock, if you enjoy hiking, if you enjoy seeing many unique places— this is the cabin for you!
If exploring the field and creek area please look at map uploaded in pictures for property line. During hunting season neighbors in the area do hunt so be cautious.
On top of all of that - WE ARE PET FRIENDLY and want you to bring your family with you! We have NO breed restrictions! There is a pet fee and the pet needs added into the booking. ** We ask that your pet remain on some form of leash at all times. Long leads are okay for playtime and exploring but you must always be able to physically restrain your pet in the event you come in contact with farm animals or wildlife.
Please clean up your pet’s waste to keep the property nice for all guests.
Your pet is never to be left on the property unattended.
Make sure you have access to your vaccine records and be prepared to show them if requested.
Pets are not allowed on linens in cabins and cottages. If you plan for your pet to sleep in the bed, please bring your own bed linens to avoid extra fees.
We love animals and we have to put policies in place to keep all human and animals safe and comfortable while on the property. Thank you.
We recommend all guests to purchase travel insurance incase you are unable to make your reserved dates. In the winter there is snow and a 4WD is recommended. We do not offer refunds out of cancellation period for any reason including weather/ internet. Thank you
We do have neighbors with one cabin 30 yards to one side which is not a rental and owner uses as a getaway every now and then. Other homes are around but not very close. The three acres extends down the hill in front of cabin over creek to Woodline.
Check in time is 4:00pm. Check out time is 10:00am.
