The Back Door Cottage is a lovely fully restored single family home. It was originally built in 1930's as the guest house to a large historical home, We have completely remodeled it using high end finishes while giving consideration to every detail.

The cottage is nestled into a private fenced yard which is a summer oasis. It feels very private while still being steps to all amenities downtown. Most of our guests walk to everything. The cottages comes with a couple of bikes if you prefer to ride around town. An outdoor grill and lawn chairs are provided.

The cottage is about 800 square feet and includes a living room, kitchen, bedroom and kitchen. It is small but designed to use every inch effectively, so it does not feel small. There is also a full basement with a washer and dryer and comes in handy for extra storage. The house has a small garage but only small vehicles fit. If you car does not fit, you will need to park on the street.

Bedroom and Living Room have a flat screen T.V. with a full cable package including HBO and Showtime. There is a DVR to record all of your favorite shows. We also have full wireless internet.

This rental is a very special place which was designed to someday be our own retreat. You will feel those special touches the moment you enter. We look forward to welcoming to our home away from home.

Summary: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION !!! Plus a lovely place and wonderful owners. We could not have found a better place to suit our needs. It was the only place I could find that was close to downtown and included a garage ( I booked it 8 months in advance). We walked everywhere (and we're 66 &70). We were within 1.5 to 4 blocks of a magnificent library, downtown shops and restaurants, free ice skating rink, free cross country skiing (north of the hospital). And once you get walking, 20 blocks seems like nothing because there is so much to see and explore. We even walked to Ted's Montana Grill at the Baxter Hotel for dinner on New Year's Eve (temp about 11) and walked home and loved it. The garage is small but our car easily fit in (a 2018 Forester). The cottage also has a clean and dry basement with washer and dryer and plenty of room for sporting equipment and your luggage, etc. Even though the windows only have roman shades, it was very warm inside. All but 2 of the windows are newer thermopane types. The owners have a service that handles all the snow removal unless it's just a dusting of snow. The kitchen is fully equipped and items not mentioned but included are crockpot, coffee grinder, blender, egg cooker, cookie sheets, etc. The bedroom offers a very comfortable king size bed and the shower/tub combination is wonderful, bring your bubble bath. There is a good size coat closet with shelves in the living room. In the bedroom are 4 built-in drawers and 4 shelves hidden behind the sliding door in the bedroom. The bedroom closet has 2 racks and a middle shelf and offers a lot more storage than it seems from the picture. The coffee table (wood box) shown in the pictures has been replaced with a nice one that is shorter and on legs (so you can get your feet under it). They provide plenty of pillows, throws, and blankets so don't bring anything extra. I know I'm giving a lot of information but it just confirms that the owners have thought of everything. And they were very prompt about fixing something that malfunctioned. We loved the neighborhood and the cottage and everything Bozeman offers. Be sure to check out the Cat Eye Cafe for lunch and go up the hill on the trails that overlook town south of Langley Park next to the library. Being 7 blocks away from my daughter's home was also nice. Had we been farther away from downtown, had to drive in and find a place to park, I know we would not have enjoyed as many fun outings.
