Get away from it all in an authentic 1970's Colorado A-Frame cabin with a new, high-end hot tub. You'll be within 25 minutes of world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, off-roading, mountain biking, and restaurants.
Located on a large private property with your own babbling stream right next to it, this property offers an escape into nature. Dip your feet in the creek, star-gaze from the hot tub, spot wildlife, rest below fourteen-thousand-foot peaks, all from the private deck on the property
The space:
The cabin has a full kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room and a master bedroom on the main floor. The lofted area has another queen bed and sitting area. The property sits on about an acre of beautifully forested land with a creek running through it.
To keep warm in the winter, the cabin has a gas-burning fireplace, forced air heat, and additional heaters in the master bedroom and bathroom.
We enjoy keeping the cabin well stocked with plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, spices, olive oil & vinegar, coffee, cream & sugar, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
The Wind River Spa Hot Tub is new as of October 2023 and features high end jets, filtration, and heating power.
Important Notes PLEASE READ:
Four wheel drive or all wheel drive is HIGHLY recommended in November through May. The driveway and roads are plowed, but our high elevation valley gets a lot of snow. You will take a dirt road to get to the house. We strongly advise against coming to the Colorado mountains in the winter without a four wheel drive vehicle. We cannot offer refunds due to weather events.
During the winter, it is likely that there will be snow and ice on the roads. The roads are well-maintained, but this is just a part of driving in the Colorado mountains.
This home is in Alma, which has an elevation over 10,000 feet. Please be aware of how you're feeling, drink plenty of water, and acclimate if necessary.
The stairs up to the loft are very steep and not suitable for most small children or those with limited mobility. You can enjoy all amenities of the home without using the stairs.
The kitchen does not have a dishwasher.
Depending on your cell phone carrier, service might be spotty in the area. We have Starlink internet for a quick wifi connection.
The stars are incredible at the cabin. This is because the neighborhood is very dark. Please anticipate that there will not be street lamps in our neighborhood.
Right now there is not a clothing rack with hangers in the home. There is not AC, which is common in all homes in this area.

To be transparent, we want guests to know what they will be asked to do upon check out. We only ask guests to do the bare minimum required for the home to be left safe and sanitary. This means we ask guests to do their own dishes, take out the trash, and leave the house locked and at a safe temperature so the pipes don't freeze. The rest is covered in your cleaning fee.

Guest access:
The property has a large driveway where guests can park up to two vehicles for free. Parking is not allowed on the county roads.
You'll travel approximately two miles or about four minutes on county-maintained dirt roads to access to house. The county plows these roads all winter and we contract with a private snowplow driver to keep the driveway and home clear.
We highly recommend 4WD to our guests and to anyone traveling in the Colorado mountains during fall and winter.
Other things to note:
Please note that the elevation is high and guests should consider acclimating prior to their trip. Please be especially cautious of the impact that altitude will have on hydration, alcohol use, drug use, and other side effects. Extended periods in the hot tub may increase these impacts.
