Upon arrival you'll notice that there are four very similar houses so next to each other. This harkens back to when Trinidad was primarily a coal mining town and these houses, including the one where you'll be staying, was originally built to house miners. Your unit is the second one in the grouping (it's a one way street). This is a shot gun style house meaning that each room leads directly to the next.
There are a couple steps up to the front porch but once up there the entire place is one level. You may notice that the floors are not completely level but given that this charming home is over 120 years old that's to be expected. On the covered porch you'll find a table and chairs so that you can enjoy the lovely cool evenings, summer storms, morning coffee or a smoke should you be so inclined. (Please do not smoke inside)
The porch opens to the living room. Inside you'll find a comfy sofa, coffee table that can open into a desk, a ceiling fan to circulate the air and a Smart TV with Amazon Fire. Through the bedroom you'll access the full kitchen. You'll have a full sized fridge, double sink, gas range with oven, coffee maker, microwave, toaster and all the necessary dishes and kitchen utensils. In this room you'll also find the door to the back yard and the access to bathroom.
The full bathroom bin the house is accessed through the kitchen. The bathroom features the beautiful, original claw-foot tub with a shower adaption, toilet and pedestal sink.
The home is equipped with a gas forced-air furnace. Ceiling fans in the living spaces and a window unit air conditioner in the bedroom. The arid climate and cool evenings make it easy to cool the house down at night by leaving the windows open during the night and closing them and the curtains during the day.
